Below is the story of Cinnamon, on of the lucky dogs saved by Pit Crew IL Rescue, a rescue dedicated to rehabilitating and training lost, abused and neglected pit bulls currently in need within the Chicago area so they can find their new forever homes. M&J was very happy to donate product to help with this fantastic cause. (Story interpreted by Debi Sullivan from Pit Crew IL Rescue)
Um hi…hello, my name is Cinnamon. I was asked to tell you a story, my story, so I will try.
Once upon a time I had a family, I also had a warm place to call home. My friend Blitzen and I didn’t know our lives were going to change…but it did. One day not to long ago our family left. Blitzen and I waited at home day after day for our family to come home, they never did. We grew hungry and our bodies got skinny. It was very lonely and I was very sad.
A neighbor finally came to visit and we got to go for a ride in the car. Oh what happiness! But it wasn’t very happy because they took us to a scary place where we were put into cages. People took pictures of us and I tried real hard to be good and took comfort that I still had my friend Blitzen. But one day she was gone too. The woman came and put a leash on her and she got to go for another ride with really nice people.

I was alone and I was pretty scared, everything and everyone I knew was gone. It was two days before Christmas and the people there said my time was up.
But my story doesn’t end there. A woman came and put a leash on me! I admit I was very excited and maybe not showing my manners on my leash. But I was going for a ride!
And that is how I came to Pit Crew IL Rescue. And this is where I am learning to trust and love again while I get better. I am very timid and still a little afraid. I try hard to trust but sometimes I’m just too scared. Icame here with cuts in my ears, on my nose, under my eye, on my head and on my tail. Some were big cuts that hurt, some didn’t hurt me at all.

The lady here was real nice and let me put my head in her lap, she whispered softly to me as she gently scratched my ears. I could sit like this forever! She gave me a kiss on the head. Then told me that I was very stinky and she had just the thing for that.
She lifted me up and put my in this big white thing, I have to admit I was a little scared. The warm water started and then she brought out these three bottles; yellow, purple and green. One by one she rubbed each all over my body and all my ick washed away. She even washed all my boo-boos and guess what? It didn’t hurt me and it felt really, really good. I especially liked it on my paws…ahhhh.
With all my ick gone I smelled beautiful, was feeling a little better and was wagging my tail. Now I get to rest my head in her lap all the time and she always gives me kisses on my head and my nose. I get my special baths each week and though I have to say, I’m not a fan of the big white thing…I do like the way those bottles make me feel.
Most of my boo-boos are almost healed and the fur is growing back, soft and shiny. All except my tail. My tail boo-boo has gotten worse and after going to see the nice people who give me lots of treats at the vet, I hear that on Wednesday they are going to remove part of my tail. They are hoping that it is just a big, bad infection but won’t know until after the thing they call surgery. Lady promises me lots of lap time and special baths while I recover, so I’m not too scared.

Ohhhh what a sweet story! She’s so pretty, best of luck with everything beautiful! **Tears**!!!
